“Made in EU” tells the story of a seamstress in a small town and her son. The seamstress, Iva, is accused of causing a pandemic to break out in the small town and becomes a scapegoat, persecuted by the very system that has been profiting from her labor for years. The film was shot in Haskovo, Dimitrovgrad, Madan, and Rudozem. The cast includes Gergana Pletnyova, Todor Kotsov, Gerasim Georgiev-Gero, Ivaylo Hristov, Anastasia Ingilizova, Ivan Barnev, Hovhannes Torosyan, Martina Peneva, and others.
“Made in EU” is a Bulgarian-German-Czech co-production (Argo Film, 42film, and Negativ) and was produced with the support of the National Film Center (NFC), Bulgarian National Television, ZDF/ARTE, MDM – Germany, the Czech Film Fund, KIA Bulgaria, and TRT Turkey.
